Dr. McGinn is the founder of Sangaree Animal Hospital, as well as its head veterinarian with over 32 years of experience. He is currently a member of the AVMA, the SC Association of Veterinarians, and the Trident Veterinary Medical Association. He counts six pets as family: three Chihuahuas, a Shih Tzu and two loving cats.
Dr. Marie Ingle is the co-owner of Sangaree Animal Hospital and the primary doctor at the Cane Bay location. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and South Carolina Veterinary Association. Dr. Ingle and her family are enjoying living in the Low Country. Her two cats, Gus and Charlie, are also fine with the move since their favorite couch came with them.
Dr. Haley Evans earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Georgia and joined the Sangaree Animal Hospital at Cane Bay team in 2018. She has professional interests in surgical care and dentistry. Dr. Evans grew up in Pinopolis, SC, and she created a new happy home in the Summerville area in 2015. She enjoys Italian foods, the movie The Godfather, and the Boxer breed. Her first forever friend was a Golden Retriever named Dixie, and she is now the caretaker of an adorable Boston Terrier named Gabby. In her free time, Dr. Evans enjoys boating and exploring new restaurants.
Dr. Ashley Balzano joined the medical team at Sangaree Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in September 2018. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2016. While working towards her degree, Dr. Balzano was a student technician in the ICU at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center and she participated in VeTouch and SIRVS, two student organizations aimed at providing free basic health care to pets owned by low-income residents in the twin cities. Dr. Balzano has professional interests in internal medicine and surgery. At home, she has three rescue cats: Starbuck, Jinx, and Scarlet. Dr. Balzano likes to spend time on the water, exercise, horseback ride, and travel.
Dr. Kaitlyn Pontuti has been working in the veterinary field since 2009 and is currently an Associate Veterinarian at Sangaree Animal Hospital. She earned her undergraduate degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Her area of professional interest in veterinary medicine is ultrasonography. Dr. Pontuti says the best part of working in the veterinary field is knowing she is able to make a difference in both an animal's life and the lives of their owners. Dr. Pontuti moved to Charleston, South Carolina in May 2019 and currently shares a home with her husband, Beagle, cat, and French Bulldog. She also owns a horse named Jasper back in her Maryland hometown. You can find her fishing, hiking, and exploring the outdoors in her spare time.
